Sometimes there’s just not enough time at chapter meetings to share best practices and get advice about your current HR challenges, so we invite our HR colleagues to participate in this virtual meetup.

This event is especially designed for:

-HR departments-of-one
-Other solo HR practitioners
 

This time is for you to ask HR questions, meet colleagues, and compare notes with your fellow SHRM Western CT members.

Join us for insights about the current state and national economy and the labor market, along with forecasts and projections for what is to come. 

Our presenter will give us an overview of both the Connecticut and national economies, along with a discussion of forecasts and projections for the coming months, including:

-Employment and unemployment
-Performance of Connecticut industries
-Demographics of those who are in (and who have left) the labor force
-Migration into and out of Connecticut

How to Avoid the Melting Pot of Assimilating Workforces: 
When a new employee assimilates to an existing culture, it’s easy for them to forget their own values, strengths, and identity. They can blend into the melting pot (a soup) and never stir it for fear of retaliation or negative reviews.  

Every year, both the federal government and the State of Connecticut enact new employment laws placing additional expectations on organizations.
