Gain insights on how employers can use employee benefits as a competitive advantage for talent acquisition and retention as well as a review of important current trends in the benefits industry.

Healthcare costs continue to rise at a faster pace, on average, than both wage growth and general inflation. As a result, many employers are forced to provide as much as possible with the same or, in some cases, less resources for employees. At the same time there has been a tremendous amount of innovation, and proposed regulations- challenging for employers & HR professionals.

Our presenter will give us an overview of the current employee benefits landscape along with tactics employers can use to maximize the value of the benefits they provide for both employees and the organization, including:

    -Employers’ challenges with healthcare costs
-Data on benefits other employers are providing to win the “war for talent”
-Proposed health insurance legislation which, if passed, will impact CT employers
-The leading health plan innovations now available in the marketplace

    FEES
$25 for members of SHRM Western CT
$35 for guests and future members

    OUR SPEAKER
    Rob Hansen

Rob has worked in the employee benefits industry for the past 16 years, beginning his benefits career on the insurance carrier side prior to the passage of the Affordable Care Act in 2010. Over the last 10 years he has worked with employers as a Health & Welfare benefits broker operating primarily in the Northeast.

Prior to that he worked with healthcare provider practices in the area of healthcare claims reimbursement for 5 years. This combination of experience as a benefits broker, carrier rep and in healthcare claims reimbursement enables Rob to be an effective resource for employers as they navigate the challenging, expensive employee benefits marketplace.

When he’s not working on benefits renewals and resolving claims issues Rob enjoys spending time with his two children (Liam and Maddie) and doing Crossfit workouts.
